You can treat uterine fibroids thru surgical, medical, or natural methods.
Although both surgical and medical treatments are popular, many still prefer to use natural treatments.
Castor Oil and its Healing Properties
Castor oil is a vegetable oil known for its many health and beauty uses. You can produce castor oil from castor beans using the cold press method of extraction.
Castor beans came from the Mediterranean, African, and Asian regions.
Castor oil has natural anti-inflammatory, anti-fungal, anti-microbial, and anti-bacterial properties.
Castor Oil and Jamaican Black Castor Oil
Both castor oil and Jamaican Black Castor oil are derived from the castor beans. They differ in three ways:
- The traditional castor oil has clear yellow color. The lighter the color, the higher its purity. Jamaican black castor oil is darker in color, more like to ash, hence its name Jamaican black.
- Process of extraction. The traditional castor oil is extracted using cold press method. On the other hand, Jamaican Black castor oil uses a more complex method. The castor beans are roasted first, hence the black color. Then, the roasted beans are parched, beaten by a mortar, then boiled, over water before it is cold pressed.
- PH level. The Jamaican Black castor oil has a higher pH level due to the ash derived from roasting the bean.
You can obtain the same benefits from both the traditional castor oil and Jamaican Black castor oil.
Benefits of Using Castor Oil
- Reduces and eliminates ovarian cyst and uterine fibroids
- Reduces menstrual cramps
- Clears blocked fallopian tubes
- Helps balance hormones
- Acts as laxative
Noticeably, these benefits help in treating symptoms of uterine fibroids.
These benefits are the basis in which those practicing holistic treatment believe that castor oil can help treat the condition.
Castor oil also supports lymphatic circulation. By applying the castor oil wrap, the body absorbs the oil faster, straight to your tissues.
To do the massage and apply the wrap, follow these instructions:
- Pour the castor oil on your palm. You can warm the oil by rubbing your palms together to produce heat.
- Apply the oil around your belly down to your pubic symphysis. This area covers your uterus, spleen and liver organs.
- After massaging, wrap a cotton flannel around your belly. Use a big flannel to cover around your belly to your back.
- Place a heating pad on your belly for 45 minutes.
This helps accelerate the cleansing of clogs and toxins in your body, thus improving your organ function.
Not a Miracle Treatment
Despite its many benefits, castor oil is not a miracle treatment. It can probably take months to get any result.
Some who have tried it claims it took four months to see any result while others claim a longer period.
There are no scientific or clinical studies to back the theory of castor oil as a treatment for uterine fibroids but its properties and benefits support its healing claims.
